Born and raised in the heart of Kansas City, I have an incredible passion for my city and for serving my community. After graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, I spent two and a half years working with the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office as a client advocate in their Drug Court program. Surrounded by great attorneys and mentors, I found myself continuing my education at UMKC Law School. I enjoyed research and writing and found myself with top section grades in Legal Research and Writing and Employment Law. During my time in law school I was also fortunate to study abroad in Spain and the Netherlands, the latter where I participated in the UNESCO Water Law program in Delft, Netherlands. Later I interned with the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights, and with the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office as a Rule 13 certified intern. I graduated with Pro Bono Honors in 2015.

After a short stint at H&R Block in their Tax Research department researching unique real estate and property tax law questions, I was fortunate to work over seven years with the U.S. Department of Education - Office for Civil Rights, investigating and resolving discrimination complaints in our regions educational institutions. I'm now starting a new journey in the private sector, using my experience and knowledge to help clients navigate the often complex and difficult legal hurdles presented to them.

I'm married to my beautiful wife, LaToya, and we enjoy spending time with our pup Stella, traveling, eating delicious BBQ, and watching our Chiefs do their thing!
